Privacy Policy
Effective date: [not yet published] · Applies to vivatdna.com and the VivatDNA / Kynetic products
Internal draft — not yet reviewed by counsel. This scaffold covers the sections a
genetics company needs, but every bracketed field and every specific claim (accreditation status,
subprocessors, retention periods, applicable state genetic-privacy statutes such as California's
Genetic Information Privacy Act) must be verified against actual practice and reviewed by a lawyer
before this page is linked publicly or real user data is collected. Treat this as a starting
structure, not a publishable document.
1. What this covers
This policy explains what information VivatDNA ([legal entity name]) and its
Kynetic product collect, how it's used, who it's shared with, and the choices available to you. It
applies to the VivatDNA saliva testing kit, the Health Overview and Clinical Overview reports, and the
Kynetic daily-coaching layer once it launches.
2. Information we collect
- Account & contact information — name, email, and anything else you provide when joining the waitlist or creating an account.
- Genetic data — your saliva sample and the sequencing results derived from it, processed by [accredited lab partner name].
- Health & lab data — any lab results you upload directly, and biomarker data referenced in your reports.
- Wearable data — sleep, recovery, and activity signals from connected devices (Apple Health, Whoop, Oura), only once you explicitly connect them for Kynetic.
- Usage data — standard site analytics (pages visited, general location by IP, device type).
3. How we use it
- To generate your Health Overview and Clinical Overview reports.
- To power Kynetic's daily recommendations, cross-referencing your genome against your wearable and lab signals.
- To provide customer support and service updates.
- In de-identified, aggregate form only, to improve our scoring models and research — never in a way that could re-identify you without separate, explicit consent.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell your genetic or health data to data brokers, advertisers, or any third party.
- We do not share your genetic data with employers, life or health insurers, or use it for underwriting purposes.
- We do not use your data to train models in a way that exposes your individual results to other users.
5. Who we share it with
We share data only with the vendors necessary to run the service, under contracts that restrict them
to that purpose:
- [accredited lab partner name] — processes your physical sample and returns sequencing data to us.
- [cloud infrastructure / database provider] — stores account and application data securely, acting as a data processor on our instructions.
- Licensed physicians or genetic counselors, only where you engage one through us for report review.
6. Security
Genetic data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted by row-level permissions so
that only you — and staff who need it to deliver the service — can read your results.
[add specifics once finalized: encryption standard, access-review cadence, incident-response process].
7. Your choices
- You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent for future use at any time.
- Deleting your account does not retract results already reviewed by a physician as part of care already delivered, and some data may be retained where required by lab-accreditation or recordkeeping law — [confirm exact retention obligations with counsel].
- Wearable connections can be disconnected at any time from your account settings.
8. Children
VivatDNA and Kynetic are not directed at, and are not knowingly offered to, anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll notify active users by email before the change takes effect.
